barronI like to watch old movies. Over the past several months, I’ve watched (or re-visited) a number of Alfred Hitchcock thrillers, some screwball comedies from the ’30s and ’40s, and a couple of film-noir classics. Recently, over the course of three evenings, I managed to get through the three hours and 40 minutes (yes, you read that correctly) of the 1956 version of “The Ten Commandments” with Charlton Heston.

Lately I’ve been aware of how much I’ve grown to appreciate one of the joyful mysteries – I sometimes find myself lingering in the Temple with Mary and Joseph as they present their infant Son to the Lord.
