adorationCHARLOTTE — St. Thomas Aquinas Church is hosting 50 hours of Eucharistic Adoration leading up to its patronal feast day Friday, Jan. 28.

The 50 Hours of Devotion is a special period of continuous prayer made before the Blessed Sacrament in solemn exposition. The parish is conducting the special prayer vigil as part of the diocese’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

The 50 hours of continual Eucharistic Adoration will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, and continue until 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28. The 50 Hours Devotion will conclude with Mass to commemorate the Feast of St. Thomas Aquinas.

Visiting friars from the Franciscans of Primitive Observance will preach at 7 p.m. in the church on Wednesday, and they will also preach at the 7 p.m. Masses on Thursday and Friday. The Franciscans will also be available for confession.

A light reception will follow the Friday evening Mass and induction of new members of the Angelic Warfare Confraternity in Aquinas Hall.

St. Thomas Aquinas Church is located at 1400 Suther Road in Charlotte.
