St. Charles Borromeo Church hosts Guatemalan procession honoring archangels

MORGANTON — The Guatemalan community of St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Morganton held their first procession, Mass and celebration on Sept. 29, honoring the feast of the archangels Michael, Gabriel, and Rafael. Nearly 200 parishioners the processional route, filling the evening air with songs and prayers. Altar servers carrying the cross and incense led the procession, followed by boys and girls dressed in traditional attire and carrying baskets of flowers.
