CHARLOTTE — In recognition of October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, staff at Catherine’s House took part in domestic violence training provided by the Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness, where they covered information about harm reduction and shared with residents inspirational messages from domestic violence survivors.
Sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, Catherine’s House provides transitional housing and support services for women and children who would otherwise be homeless due to circumstances such as domestic violence, unemployment/underemployment, shortage of affordable housing, unexpected tragedies, or lack of support networks.
