CHARLOTTE — Diocesan ministries and services, parishes and schools all received extensive support thanks to successful fundraising during the unprecedented “Forward in Faith, Hope and Love” campaign, which has raised $54 million from generous parishioners and other donors.
Bishop Jugis launched the campaign in 2013, and since then the “Forward in Faith, Hope and Love” campaign has:
- Strengthened parish life and ministries as the center of the Catholic community
- Provided for priestly formation and retired clergy
- Ensured the vitality of Catholic education
- Guaranteed the availability of pastoral and temporal resources
- Expanded the outreach of social service

Growing up as a teenager in the Charlotte area, I saw Bishop Jugis at various events of the diocese. While all attention is on him in a sense, he's never really let that attention be about him. He's always been a window, as it were. We can gaze at the window, but we're actually seeing what's through the window – the light that's coming forth. I believe Our Lord's grace really shines forth through Bishop Jugis, and it’s that humility that allows him to be transparent for us to see Our Lord.
— Father Jonathan Torres, chaplain, Charlotte Catholic High School, from Bishop Jugis' 20th anniversary special section
