CHARLOTTE — Children across the Diocese of Charlotte gather each summer for faith, fun and fellowship at the week-long Totus Tuus summer camp. College-age missionaries teach campers the Catholic faith through the sacraments, prayer, skits, lessons and games.
This year they focused on the Glorious Mysteries of the rosary and the Apostle’s Creed. The kids attended Mass each day and had the opportunity to receive the sacrament of reconciliation. They also enjoyed a long-standing camp tradition – pouring sundae toppings on the missionaries!
“Just like the ‘human sundae’ at the Totus Tuus summer camp creates a mess, we would also be a mess if we didn’t pray,” says Luis Amaya, Totus Tuus missionary.
